The Madden College of Business and Economics has been notified that it has received an extension of accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International). Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. Madden College received initial AACSB聽 accreditation in 2009 and extension of accreditation in 2014 and 2019.

鈥淭he reaffirmation of our聽AACSB聽accreditation聽is an important endorsement of the Madden College鈥檚 strategic management, financial strength, innovative spirit, thought leadership and societal impact,鈥 said Jim Joseph 鈥83 Ed.D. 23, dean of the Madden College and vice president for advancement and innovation. 鈥淚 would like to thank those聽within Madden College and across Le Moyne for their work and expertise that led to this outcome, and also the many alumni and other business leaders for their involvement as advisors, mentors and donors. I would also like to give a special shout out to Dr. Dipankar Rai who tirelessly led the AACSB maintenance process from start to finish.鈥

With a mission to 鈥渇oster engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify impact in business education鈥 and a vision to 鈥渢ransform business education globally for positive societal impact,鈥 the AACSB evaluates business schools with three core themes in mind:

  1. Strategic Management and Innovation: Madden has a robust and inclusive strategic planning process and maintains an impactful strategic plan, demonstrating a commitment to positive societal impact through its activities. Madden maintains a solid team of faculty who collectively demonstrate significant academic and professional engagement that, in turn, supports high-quality outcomes consistent with the College鈥檚 mission.
  2. Learner Success: Madden鈥檚 systematic and proactive approach to curriculum management fosters innovation, experiential learning, and a lifelong learning mindset among learners. Assessment remains embedded in the culture of Madden, with faculty driving the assessment process, thereby leading to the development of curricula that ensure learners鈥 continued success.
  3. Thought Leadership, Engagement, and Societal Impact: Madden鈥檚 contributions align with the spirit and intent of thought leadership, engagement, and societal Impact. The faculty members have collectively produced high-quality, impactful intellectual contributions that, over time, develop into mission-consistent areas of thought leadership for the school. The school collaborates with a wide variety of external stakeholders to create and transfer credible, relevant, and timely knowledge that informs the theory, policy, and/or practice of business to develop into mission-consistent areas of leadership for the school. Additionally, the school’s portfolio of intellectual contributions has made a positive societal impact, consistent with the school’s mission.
