Life After Le Moyne: Real Journeys, Real Impact

It doesn鈥檛 take long for Le Moyne alumni to start making a difference. With the skills they鈥檝e gained and the values they carry from their Jesuit education, they鈥檙e out in the world creating real impact in their communities and their careers.
Graduates from the past 10 years are already working at places like Google, MetLife, and the NFL. Others are helping people find safe, affordable housing through the Syracuse Housing Authority, conducting cancer research at the Moffitt Cancer Center, or supporting students and staff at MIT.
They鈥檙e doctors, entrepreneurs, educators, scientists, and creatives who use their talents (and determination) to meet the world鈥檚 needs. They left The Heights ready to lead, serve, and make a difference.
Young Alumni in Action
More than a Job, A Chance to Serve
The day after graduating from Le Moyne with a degree in political science, Taylor McFadden 鈥24 began work as an assistant resident services support coordinator for the Syracuse Housing Authority (SHA). It is more than a job for McFadden. It is an opportunity to serve others.
Embracing the Uncertainty that Breeds Innovation
Marcella Christensen 鈥22 firmly believes that uncertainty is the most critical issue facing her generation. We already have self-driving cars and hoverboards, but we simply don鈥檛 know what might come next.
Genuine Passion for the NFL
Teamwork is essential in every professional environment, but even more so in the high-stakes world of sports business. Maura McNeil 鈥20 embodies this philosophy in her role as a digital sales planner for the National Football League (NFL).
The Complex and Collaborative World of Cancer Research
Few people have not been touched, directly or indirectly, by cancer. That fact has long motivated Evan Davis 鈥18, Ph.D., to act.
The Business of Storytelling
There are few things Rory Burns 鈥21 loves more than to tell a story. It is something Burns has been passionate about since he learned to read and write and, as the youngest of five boys, he always had an audience.
Use all of the resources that are available to you as a student. Visit the Office of Career Advising and Development. Conduct research. Find a mentor. Drop in on office hours. Ask people how they made it to where they are today. Don’t stay in your dorm, don’t stay quiet, and you will get a big return on your investment. And remember this: If you fail, fail early. Fail young.”

Embracing the Rapidly Evolving World of Education
Kayla Burt 鈥17 credits her time at Le Moyne with preparing her to hold multiple perspectives, to stand up for others, and to use her voice. Each of these skills informs the work Burt now does as a program administrator in the Center for Constructive Communication at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Where Extraordinary Work Leads to Extraordinary Results
Steven Nunez 鈥19 possesses a natural curiosity, particularly when it comes to technology. He carried his innate interest in uncovering how things work, along with a fierce work ethic, with him to Le Moyne.
Uncovering a Love of Chemistry
When Brittany (Cripps) Malsegna 鈥23 began studying chemistry at Le Moyne, she expected that it would be challenging in all of the best ways, and it was.
An Education and a Journey
If Rosanna Grullon 鈥18 were to offer one piece of advice to future Le Moyne students, it would be this: 鈥淒on鈥檛 rush through everything.鈥 Grullon鈥檚 experience on the Heights taught her how special a person鈥檚 college years are, and how quickly they pass.
