Selected from a record number of applications, approximately 640 members of Le Moyne鈥檚 first-year聽class聽arrive聽today聽for the traditional move-in day. The students who make up the class of 2028 come from 25 different states and 12 countries.

鈥淭his year鈥檚 robust incoming class is a remarkable feat considering the many challenges facing enrollment managers,鈥 said Tim Lee, vice president for enrollment management and marketing. 鈥淚n particular, the delayed rollout of FAFSA posed unique issues for both students and administrators. I鈥檓 proud of the work done by our Office of Financial Aid and others to work through the process and bring in a strong class.鈥

The academic profile for first-year students remains robust, with an average GPA of more than 3.6. The most popular declared majors were biology, psychology, nursing and finance. Thirty percent of the College鈥檚 first-year class identified as multicultural, marking the sixth consecutive year that at least 25 percent of the incoming class identified as such.

Also joining the College are 160 transfer students, some of whom came from the College of Saint Rose and Wells College, which both closed at the end of the 2024 academic year. This is the second year transfer student-specific housing was offered, with more than 50 transfer students opting to live on campus. The incoming transfer class is over 40 percent multicultural.

Graduate enrollment remains strong across the board, with new graduate students representing 20 different states and four countries. Although many programs have reached capacity, several programs will continue fall enrollment through early October. Included in the College鈥檚 offerings is the Clinical Mental Health Counseling, which finished its first recruiting cycle with a full cohort of students.
